Lauren Hays, M.S., CAAB
Courses in endocrinology, physiology, psychology, and neuroscience provided a rich background to her hands-on experience.

Lauren's Master's project and thesis focused on the effectiveness of obedience training in solving behavior problems in dogs from rescue shelters.  She continues to stay current on the lastest studies and literature pertaining to canine behavior.

In 2007, Lauren completed the requirements and was approved by the Animal Behavior Society and a board of her peers to become a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist.  This exclusive title is only held by approximately 100 people in the entire United States.

Austin Canine Consulting, Inc. was founded to provide dog owners with solid, scientifically-backed behavior advice and treatment programs that are essential for solving the tough problems
.
A native of Austin, Texas, Lauren's lifelong passion for canine behavior began at a young age.  At 10 years old she had successfully trained and received an AKC title with her first dog.

During her undergraduate years at Texas A&M University, Lauren discovered the field of applied animal ethology, or animal behavior.  During the summers back in Austin, she was privileged to work with the only other behaviorist in Austin with higher education.  Through case observation and assistance with training classes, Lauren's interest in all things dog continued to grow.

After graduation, Lauren attended the twelve week program at the Triple Crown Academy in Hutto, Texas.  Through extensive hands-on and classroom training, she received certification as a behavior and training specialist.

This further motivated Lauren to pursue a career in canine behavior.  The next fall she  was accepted into the graduate program for applied animal ethology at Texas A&M University.  During those two years, her education was vastly extended into the science behind behavior.
